私たちはほぼ無意識的に人を外見で判断しています。

 誰もが美しいものを好み、その基準は人それぞれです。

ではその基準となる感性や価値観はどこから来たものでしょうか？

その基準の中に、自分自身がそう思っているというより、

そうでなければいけないんだと思っていることはないですか？

 この私の顔を使った100種類の変身的・非日常的・実験的なメイクたちは、

そういった自分の感性・価値観への疑問、

外見(美醜・年齢・性別・人種)で評価され続けることへの抵抗、

他者からの評価や、情報過多な現代での

アイデンティティーの持ち方の提案を軸に考えたものです。

We judge people by their appearance almost without realising it. 

Everyone is drawn to what they find beautiful, but the standards we use to judge beauty differ from person to person. So where, then, do the sensibilities and values behind those standards come from? Are there standards we hold not because we truly feel that way, but because we believe that is how we are supposed to feel?

These 100 transformative, otherworldly, experimental makeup looks that were all created on my own face are rooted in three questions: questioning my own sensibilities and values, resisting the constant judgement we face based on our appearances (beauty, ugliness, age, gender, race), and exploring ways to maintain our identities amidst the judgement of others and the information overload of modern society.
